Newsletter #2 – February 1st, 2022
Kia ora NZTSOS members and whanau,
Thank you to everyone who turned up to our all in meeting last Wednesday. It was amazing to see your beautiful faces and break into our regions and develop connections and community. Here are the updates from this week’s committee meeting:
· For those that missed it, last Wednesday evening we discussed the upcoming court case on the 3rd, 4th and 7th of March. We have started organising how to get as many of us down to the hearing as possible. We are working in regions to make travel and accommodation easier. If you’re interested in joining us down in Wellington for the hearing, please contact your regional leader. Their email details are below.
· We have had people asking if they can still be part of NZTSOS if they are vaccinated. The answer is YES, ABSOLUTELY!! The only criteria to be a member is you are/were involved in the education sector and are against the mandate. New members can sign up here:
· There are many who are facing the prospect of getting a booster shot. If you know of people who are not keen on getting it or are feeling put out by yet another mandate, feel free to encourage them to join our society via the link to the membership form above.
· We are planning another all in Zoom meeting next Wednesday, 9th Feb. There is a poll on our telegram group to see which time will suit people best. We will let you know the time next Sunday evening in our next newsletter.
· Finally, for those in the regional groups, keep up the positive communication with each other and keep those plans for accommodation and transport to our hearing ticking along.
I was struck by this thought tonight… Freedom is a mindset. Don’t let the negative thoughts and oppression we’re facing rob the freedom within you. Until next week, take care, stand strong, and stay free.
